Education is one of the most relevant and significant elements in life. Young people go through decisive stages such as childhood and adolescence, which will form their identity and shape their personality, ambitions and concerns.
This project seeks to provide participants with tools and resources with which they can design, develop and undertake both activities and programs that promote transversal education through the games.
Through participation in the exchange, the aim is to provide members with a vision of how to achieve education through playing games. In classrooms there are different learning styles and educational needs. Young people will design and learn games that have an educational element that supports curricular teaching.
Participation in the activity involves learning the different types of games and dynamics, designing new ones and implementing them, with the aim of achieving better attributes when carrying out an action / dynamic / game / activity, both recreational and educational. .
The multicultural approach of the project brings together alternative points of view, unusual and rich in cultural diversity. We are going to put into practice traditional games and cultural actions typical of each country. The globalized and multicultural Europe in which we live, needs approaches adapted to its situation, where, within the classrooms and in non-formal education, the needs and concerns that each religion, ethnicity, culture or nationality encompasses are contemplated.
The project is associated with the development of multiple skills, including:
Self-knowledge. Empathy. Assertive communication. Intercultural relationships. Decision-making when designing a personalized project and the resolution of conflicts, which can naturally arise in a team work . Critical thinking. Management of emotions, tensions and stress. Flexibility and adaptation are developed when several ideas come together in one, forming a project full of contributions made by the participants. The ability to work in a team. Resolutive capacity. Proactivity, professionalism, attention, active listening and effort naturally developed when you work in a team. The ability to communicate, as it is an activity that promotes the use of a foreign language and works in a cooperative and constructivist way. And the reasoning.
Participants will also develop or improve cognitive skills such as:
Lateral thinking. The ability and capacity to plan and organize, managing the time they have for the development of a playful project that supports curricular education.
The evaluation and self-evaluation, of their participation and their contributions, of the proposals of the other groups, and of their own group. In addition, they will put their creative capacity into practice, trying to draw up a unique, innovative and inclusive proposal.
On the other hand, the members of the youth exchange will acquire tools and experience on how to implement educational programs through games. Through cognitive learning, they will internalize knowledge about how the design, plan, developt, manage and evaluate of a project that will be carried out.
Finally, the participants will develop and adapt intercultural behaviors due to the nature of the project. Cooperatives caused by constructivist methodology and team building of work teams. And responsible and respectful with the environment, due to the awareness that will be transferred to young people during the stay
